How to Get There

TACV is the name of the Capeverdean airline. It offers international flights as well as domestic flights between the islands of Cabo Verde. The TACV is connecting Munich, Lisbon, Paris and Amsterdam with the international airport Amilcar Cabral on the island of Sal and maintains an agency in Munich (phone 0049-89-5525-3333). Be aware, that due to the expanding turism, the flight-connections are changing rapidly.

To enter Cabo Verde, you need a valid passport and a visa. To get the visa, you have to contact the capeverdean embassy or your tour operator.

The airport of Sal is also approached by the Portuguese TAP-Air from London via Lisbon. TUI/Condor offers flights from Frankfurt.

If you are comparing prices be aware that the TACV has a discount system for the domestic flights called airpass, but only for those passengers who are also using the international flights by TACV.

Direct flights from Sal to Fogo are rare. Normally you have an overnight stay in the capital Praia on the island of Santiago. A visit to the near-by village Cidade Velha or a stroll in the lanes of the market Sucupira could be interesting destinations.
